Ash joined Mercer and Hughes in 2023 as a Consult Assistant at the Bocking branch. Before that, he completed two diplomas in Work-Based Animal Care at Levels 2 and 3 through Writtle College. While studying, Ash spent his weekends volunteering on the college’s animal unit, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of species – from farm animals to birds, reptiles and small furries. He has a particular soft spot for cats and shares his home with Felix, his 16-year-old feline companion. Ash enjoys the clinical side of practice, often supporting the nurses behind the scenes or assisting vets in consults. More recently, he’s been helping out across several branches.
