CLINICAL DIRECTOR
I qualified with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Dublin in 1985. I worked in small, mixed, large animal and equine practice before joining Willett House as an assistant in 1990 and then returning as a partner in 1993. I work exclusively at the main branch surgery in Staines and I divide my time between consulting and surgery – both of which I enjoy. I am an extremely experienced surgeon with a special interest in soft tissue, orthopaedic and spinal surgery. I am a married father of three with two grandchildren, and I live in Surrey and enjoy spending time in South West France. I have been accepting referral cases at Willett House for the last 15 years. With my 40 years experience in complex orthopaedic, soft tissue and diagnostic imaging cases, I accept the more challenging cases from vets in the South East. I am currently working on my next certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery with all exams passed and awaiting case report acceptance. The majority of my work load in orthopaedics involves Cora Based Levelling Osteotomy (CBLO) for cranial cruciate problems, Spinal surgery for disc related issues, limb alignment and fracture fixation. My main soft tissue surgeries involve chest surgery, the more complicated abdominal surgeries for liver shunts, gallbladder problems and cancers. For diagnostic imaging we have an in-house 16 slice CT scanner and access to an off-site 4T MRI scanner.
