Ruth qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2014 and has been with Swayne & Partners ever since. Now one of our Clinical Directors, she has a special interest in Internal Medicine and is officially recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. At home, Ruth enjoys life with her dog, cat, and several chickens.

By law, pets receiving prescription medication must be seen by a vet at least every six months for a check-up and review. Some pets with more serious conditions may benefit from reviews more frequently. If your pet has not had a review within this time, we may ask you and your pet to come in for an appointment before we can dispense further medication.

For prescription flea, tick & worm treatment, your pet only needs to be seen by a vet every twelve months. However, a recent change in the law means that this treatment must be specifically authorised by a vet on your pet's medical record at the time they see your pet. If you have not discussed flea, tick & worm treatment recently with a vet, your pet may need to come in for an additional check-up and review.
