Housed in a thoughtfully repurposed former garage, our surgery boasts modern facilities, including three consultation rooms, two operating theatres, and a dedicated X-ray suite, all designed to provide comprehensive care in comfort. With separate cat and dog kennels and a spacious waiting area, we prioritise your pet’s wellbeing and ease during every visit.

Reed Veterinary Surgery uses Bury St Edmunds for out-of-hours support, ensuring your pet receives expert care whenever it’s needed, as part of the wider Kin Vet Community.

Meet Our Team

Stefano Susanna DVM MRCVS

Clinical Director & Veterinary Surgeon

Stefano brings a wealth of experience to Reed, having previously run his own practice in Wales. He is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon and provides valuable leadership to the clinical team in his role as Clinical Director.

Susan Abramson

Practice Manager

Susan has been working in the veterinary industry for over 17 years and has been an integral part of Reed since its beginnings in 2016. As Practice Manager, she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and supporting the team in delivering excellent care to clients and their pets.

Filipe Correia MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Filipe qualified as a veterinary surgeon in Portugal in 2013 and brings a wealth of experience to the Reed team. With a calm and caring approach, he enjoys all aspects of small animal practice. Outside of work, Filipe is embracing life as a new father.

Jo James RVN

Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jo qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004 and joined Reed in 2020. She has a keen interest in internal medicine and, as head veterinary nurse, plays a vital role in mentoring the next generation of veterinary nurses as a Clinical Supervisor to student nurses.

Mishelle Entwistle RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Mishelle is one of Reed’s most experienced registered veterinary nurses, having joined the team in 2019. She has a special interest in ophthalmology and enjoys supporting both patients and clients through diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.

Callum Davis RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Callum is the newest member of the Reed nursing team, having qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2022. He has a particular interest in exotic species and is always keen to broaden his knowledge in this area.

Georgina Smith

Trainee Registered Veterinary Nurse

Georgina joined Reed in 2020 as a receptionist and has since progressed into veterinary nurse training. Now in the final stages of her qualification, she continues to be a dedicated and compassionate member of the team.

Holly Broom

Trainee Registered Veterinary Nurse

Holly joined Reed from Newmarket Equine Hospital and began her veterinary nurse training in September 2024. She has a strong passion for patient care and a particular interest in fear-free training, working to make visits as stress-free as possible for pets.

Kathryn Kirby

Receptionist

Kathryn, known to us as Kate, has been a key part of the Reed team since 2018. As well as being a valued member of the reception team, she also manages our Kin Care Club, helping to keep pets on track with their healthcare plans and supporting our clients with advice and reminders.

Lyndsey Woods

Receptionist

Lyndsey joined the Reed reception team in 2023 on a part-time basis and quickly became a full-time team member. She is known for her warm, welcoming approach and her commitment to supporting clients and their pets.

Kaitlyn Jeray

Receptionist

Our receptionist Kaitlyn joined Reed in 2024 and quickly became a valued member of the front-of-house team. As well as welcoming clients and their pets, she often supports the nursing team with patient care.

Lily Moon

Receptionist

Lily began her journey at Reed as a work experience student and now works part-time on reception. She is soon to begin her training to become a veterinary nurse and is passionate about animal care.

Lyndsey Johnstone-Best

Receptionist

Lyndsey joined Reed in 2024 following a career in banking. While officially a part-time receptionist, she is often found covering extra shifts and staff holidays, making her a familiar and friendly face around the practice.
